Growing Naturally

One of Australia's Longest-Running Dorper Studs

Winrae Dorpers is Family owned and operated by Nick and Mel Pagett and is based at Warialda, 75kms East of Moree, in Northern NSW.

Our extensive experience in the Dorper industry comes from beginning our Dorper Stud in the Outback of Bourke, NSW in 1999, where we ran a large scale breeding family owned operation with Stud Dorpers and breeding Commercial Organic Dorper Lambs.

We have owned Country in higher rainfall locations in NSW as well at the same time, thus gaining experience in grazing different pastures, both native and improved and also trialling grazing different crop types.

Nick and Mel are also Qualified Dorper and White Dorper Judges and Inspectors.

Where are Winrae Dorpers located

We’re based at Kiota, 13321 Gwydir Hwy, Warialda NSW — 75km east of Moree in Northern NSW.

When is your annual ram sale?

Our on-farm ram sale is held annually at Warialda. Inspections begin at 10:30am with the sale starting at 1:00pm. Online bidding is available via Stocklive. Check our Sales & Events page for the current year’s date.

Do you sell both Dorpers and White Dorpers?

We breed and sell both fullblood Dorper and White Dorper sheep. Both are performance recorded, DNA parentage verified and genomically tested.

Are Nick and Mel qualified to assess Dorpers?

Yes — Nick and Mel Pagett are both qualified Dorper and White Dorper Judges and Inspectors, having completed their training when the first Dorper courses came to Australia in 2001.
